The mark is made of four parts: the yellow figure is a sprinter, the red one a swimmer, the blue arrow the sea, and the green triangle the field.

The four colors of the mark symbolize the flag and coat of arms of Montenegro.

The mark is a square of six elements in four colors. Red stands for the field of the flag, gold for its border and the coat of arms with the double-headed eagle, and blue and green for the shield of the coat of arms: a lion on green ground under a blue sky. The Olympic rings carry the same four colors, so the mark represents both the host country and the Olympic movement. The elements can be read in two ways: as athletes in competition and as mountains and sea. The slogan “How big we are!” rounds out the story: a country small in territory, great in skill, results, strength and nature. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee presented the mark and slogan in 2017, after a public competition for the 2019 Games of the Small States of Europe.
